When we think about Nepal, we always recall the scenic beauty of its nature and vast Himalayan ranges. All of these factors make Nepal a perfect spot for tourism, it is also a country which has the most tourists all around the year. But the 2020 Pandemic has hit many countries and most importantly, countries whose main source of revenue comes from tourism and sure Nepal was one of them, whose tourism has seen the lowest number of tourists in past years.
To boost Nepal tourism again, Nepal Government has begun providing skill training to locals in the tourism business. But the main factor which plays a role over here is that, since many men, were not able to get work so they left behind their work as your tour guides and further went overseas to find labour work. Which has brought a shortage of tour guides in Nepal and to tackle this problem Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the United Nations Improvement Programme (UNDP), has launched the Sustainable Tourism for Livelihood Restoration Undertaking (STLRP). The mission is geared toward bringing aid, particularly to the employees and labourers within the tourism sector.
The training is being organised to increase the attraction of youth and make women self-reliant. The Nepal government is hoping to get the women population involved in the major tourism industry.
This has helped women to be independent and get revenue.
